I walked behind the waterfall in Yerba Buena Gardens on my way to meet David Cates at the Museum of Modern Art.
David and I enjoyed the Georgia O'Keefe and Ansel Adams exhibits and then toured the Richard Avadon show, which was the best thing I've ever seen at MOMA. The photos were just staggering. Then we went up to the fifth floor bridge. Here's David.
And here am I.
Next it was the new roof garden.

Leaving the museum we walked down Market Street behind a man with interesting hair.
David treated me to a birthday lunch at the Ferry Building.
Then we went inside the Ferry Building and celebrated Tasty Salted Pig Parts.
Then outside for Dirty Girl Produce.
Meandering back into downtown we came across Bistro 69.
"You're pushing my leg."
At Union Square we saw a Hop On Hop Off tourist bus and one of the hearts various artists have created for the city..
On Powell Street were a mouse on a cat on a dog.
Then it was back home to get ready for my roomie Stephen to take me out to dinner. I'm wearing the new baseball cap and shoes my family sent from back home.
Here are Stephen and I at dinner.
Next day I wore my new cap and shoes for drinks at Harvey's with Brownstone, Robinson and Newmeyer.
Next morning I wore them to the Cafe Flore. Everyone agreed they were me.
And at home I put up the "Family Ties Are Special Threads" my family sent, decorated with childhood pictures. I put it right next to my Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly for my book Billions of Virgins in Ecstasy.
A very happy birthday!.
